Wild Cherry Bloodred

Don Soderberg (South Mountain Reptile) has some very dark Bloods. He specifically breeds for their dark coloration. Even his Blood stripes retain that dark color. He is an excellent place to start looking.
Many of these original Bloodreds were dark (clotted blood) like the ones Poppy has. The problem was that they were lizard eaters and therefore difficult to feed. I own a pair myself that I no longer breed for this reason. I remember a couple of years ago Marcia offered those dark Bloods for sale here and many people signed up to purchase them but she had problems getting them to eat so most of those people waiting did get any hatchlings. I don't know if she has overcome her early difficulties with feeding issues; I hope she has. This would be an aspect I would definitely look into before purchasing.
Good Luck!

Terri

Didn't Wild Cherry come from SMR? I know that some of Marsha's more stunning snakes are from Don.. like her Fire Stripes.

Mmm this is taking me on a trip down memory lane. I might need to visit Poppy Corn's website!

To the OP: Bloodreds can be kind of a gamble. Notice that in the thread that's linked in this thread, the owner of Wild Cherry was actually disappointed with her color in the first 3 years of her life. Are you willing to wait that long to see if your snake is realllly really red or not?

Stephanie's adult is a sure thing.. already very red and looks almost patternless! That is the sign of a nice Bloodred.

Nanci I believe also has a Blood or two left I think that are amazingly red.

Other than that.. your best bet is SMR as already mentioned, or perhaps Marsha herself if you can get a hold of her. I haven't seen her post here very recently, but hopefully she's still in the biz.

I'm beginning to think Poppycorns is a myth. Anyone heard from her in the last year? Two years?? Three years???
