Golddust Bloodred

Walter Smith

CRAZY BOUT' CORNS !!
Another problem feeder in the beginning, but got him going now on lizard scenting.
I tell ya, sometimes that lizard scenting makes a world of difference in getting stubborn feeders going.

Walter,
:crazy02:BOUT' CORNS !!

OOooooh nice, Walter! I've only seen a few of these, but this guy probably has the best diffusion so far. Seems like diffuse doesn't always agree with caramel so much. This guy looks really nice though.

I'm glad he's eating for you; I can't wait to see a progression on him.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Here is another male Golddust Bloodred that I have, but his diffusion / head pattern
(or lack there of :grin01: ) is not that great. This one will be replaced with the little guy above.

Once the little guy above gets to breeding maturitiy, I'll ship the one pictured here out.

I think you need to make a new product, 'eau de lizard'. Not all of us have readily available lizard scent

Your new guy has amazing diffusion for that morph, Walter. I don't believe I've seen any that nice counting all the butter bloods, caramel bloods, etc. Very, very nice.

Walter this is probably a dumb question but how do you lizard scent?

Well, no question is dumb if you don't know the answer.

Anyway, it's pretty simple. I just catch a few lizards and hold onto them for a few days.
Thaw a pinky in warm water, rub the pinky on the lizard and there ya have it.
After holding the lizards in captivity for a few days, I would turn them loose and catch a few new ones.

Nanci, I know what you mean, but they are getting there.
Here is a couple shots of some of my holdback Caramel Bloodreds.

The first two pics. are from my Sunkissed Caramel Bloodred project.
The third pic. is of a Upper Keys Caramel Bloodred.

Thanks Walter for the info. Didn't know if it was something I could buy if I needed it.

No problem, you're welcome.

Ya know, there is/was a liquid lizard scent on the market a few years back. Not sure if it's still made/sold though. Hell, I don't even know the name of it...........LOL
I remember people saying it was not all that great though, so it might not be worth the $$$, especially when you can go catch the lizards for free ;)

I just purchased online "Jack's Juice" in the lizard scent. Looks like this stuff is something fishermen use for their bait. Spray bottle, I think the price was around 7.00 and then there is shipping, but under 15.00 total. I haven't received it yet but since I don't have lizards wandering around in my yard, thought I would give this a try.
