I live in an apartment complex that allows one reserved parking space per apartment (and like everything, it's not free). And there is a sign in all the entrances stating that if someone parks in a reserved spot they will be towed and have to pay a fine.
I came home today to see not 1, not 2, but 5 Comcast vans parked in a row, taking out 5 reserved parking places. And of course one of them is parked in my spot. Now if this had been a normal car I just would have had them towed (unless I recognized the car then I would knock on their door and nicely ask them to move). But since it was a Comcast van, I didn't want to do that, because if I did, the rest of their customers could have their appointments delayed (hard to make it to an appointment without the van).
But at the same time, I paid for that parking spot and there are unreserved parking spots nearby. And I didn't see anyone in the vans. So what did I do? I went to my landlord's office and kindly informed one of the employees about the vans. And by the time I got back, a few Comcast drivers were in front of one of the vans. I nicely asked them to move the van that was in my spot, and to my surprise, all 5 moved.
So I thought, why not see what others would have done. If you had a paid parking spot and saw a Comcast (or any business) automobile in your spot what would you do?
a) Call the towing company
b) Inform the landlord
c) Go park in an unreserved parking spot, and just wait for them to leave
d) Try to hunt down one of the Comcast drivers
e) Other (specify)
Just thought this could be a light-hearted poll, just wondering what others would have done. I wasn't too sure myself when I first saw them.
