I am looking for prize donations for the 2009 Holiday Photo Contest which has already been posted. Below is a list of some suggestions for donations. We have 3 placings in 2 categories, so a minimum of 6 prizes are needed. This is a combination US and International contest, so some prizes we will need must be easily transferable for over seas (Amazon.com & eBay Gift Cards for example). We are looking in the range of $15-25 for any Gift Cards/Certificates.


Donation Suggestions
  • Cornsnakes.com Contributor Membership
  • Amazon.com Gift Card
  • eBay Gift Card
  • Gift Certificates for reptile related purchases (2009 hatchlings, etc.)
  • New reptile supplies (bowls, hides, plants, etc.)
  • Reptile related books, prints, t-shirts, etc.
*If you have any suggestions for other prizes, please let me know so I may add them


I am also looking for a total of four volunteers and four substitutes to help manage the photo contests for 2009. The substitutes will be used when the volunteers can not fulfill their duties. Each volunteer will receive access to the contest e-mail address and the announcement/rules template. I will also setup a Group Photobucket account to use for entry storage. Please remember that a volunteer can not enter in the contest they are managing.


Volunteer Responsibilities
  • Post the contest announcement (with rules) in the WIR forum
  • Acquire and organize prize donations
  • Post the voting polls (with entries) in the WIR forum
  • Post the winner announcement in the WIR forum
  • Distribute prizes

Hi Stephanie,
Let me take a look around here and see what we can come up with. We might have a book or two or some other reptile supply we can offer. I do like the Gift Certificate idea as well. But one thing that really caught my eye, and I don't know why we haven't thought of it before, for a prize is the years payment for a "Contributing Member". That just might be the ticket. As I said in a different post. We will do whatever we can to help promote CS.com and it's members.

I'll volunteer for the Summer contest and to substitute for the Winter contest. I'll also donate a prize or prizes for the Summer contest of a pair or two of hatchlings (morphs yet to be determined as I have no idea what I'll have available and the winner may even have to wait as I have no idea what and when clutches will be hatching). I won't even need an e-mail or Photobucket account as I can simply do what I did when I ran my own contest.

Okay, so having family that's from Iowa, and having visited there several times, I was actually quite intrigued by Kyle's offer. :idea:

But then, I realized it for what it was . . . a cruel evil hoax aimed at getting me excited about leaving this frozen hell hole (Yeah, subzero temps this early in the year really wears on a guy!) for a couple days, only to find out that the place doesn't exist! :angry01: So then, I figure it's some sort of trick on words and I wasn't about to let Kyle trick me with his silver serpent tongue. Apparently, Dorf is German for village and Bunkle is urban slang for collapsing inward, mentally . . . Quite honestly, I don't know what the heck is going on now!?!?

hee hee it's working!!! The small village of personalities within your head ( namely, Drizzt80 and Brent and Me and Myself and of course I) are fighting and pillaging and causing mass confusion, the end is near and Dakota Corns shall soon be mine...all mine....

Seriously, though the book I offered is in perfect condition?
