Besides things of the reptilian nature..what else do you collect?

Hi..just a change of our collection of corns and such stories...what are some other things you collect?

I collect vintage kitchen enamelware/graniteware and kitchen utensils. As well as our new collection of vintage tee cups/saucer sets.

My hubby and I along with my father-in-law (we started him on it) collect Civil War prints..we do John Paul Strain with a few Mort Kunstler thrown in and FIL is actually trying to part with some of his to make way for newer ones!! We have over 30 Strain prints, most being number 13, and we have been lucky enough to meet him several times so he has signed most of them for us. We may have goofed though because we asked him to put "To the Risinger Family" on them so now we can't seem to sell the ones we are tired of. They surely can be matted and framed so that part isn't seen.

So your turn...what is in your collection??

I used to collect antique dolls, I stopped collecting a few years ago when I started running out of space.
And old jewelry, I especially love victorian and art deco stuff.

Lighthouses! I have a million lighthouse books and decorations, but I don't purchase a statue of an actual lighthouse until I have visited it in person. I have about 20 of those.

LOL good topic!

I collect werewolves. I've got tons of toy ones, glass ones and even one carved from bone. I also have a ton of movie memorabilia from werewolf films. The pride of my collection is an original cover print of the Astounding Wolfman comic book that the artist personalized for me.

When I travel I collect thimbles, local artist prints and pressed pennies.
I also collect dragon prints done by Ruth Thompson - http://www.tarnishedimages.com/ - which I mainly pick up at renaissance faires.
Hmmm....I also seem to collect silver jewelry (mainly rings), books and anything native american.

Forgot to add that I also have a huge collection of very old books---some from the late 1800's and one from a guy's funeral who has a museum named after him-The Bidwell House..cool huh??

Great topic!!! I tend to want to hold on to EVERY book I've read (which isn't increasing too much these days, but there are a few). I also hold on to vid games that I love.

Funny thing... I've also got several packages of nice mechanical pencils that I've bought but have NEVER opened... IDK... maybe I'm just sick that way. LOL.

Also, on my DVR, I've "collected" several shows that I have a hard time erasing... Gundam 00, America's Game (Dallas/Denver/Indianapolis episodes), NFL Greatest Games episodes... etc. Do they "count"? LOL.

I also like to keep every single book I read (at least, the ones I like....which is like 99% of them lol) so even if I read it from like a library or something if I do like it I go to a bookstore and buy a copy to put on my bookshelf :p I am up to 5 bookshelves now.

Mostly, we collect pets. Tara's mom did the unthinkable the other day... she sat and counted. I didn't want to hear the answer.

Tara also collects 80's My Little Ponies.

I collect Key Chains. Whenever a friend, or myself, or a family member goes somewhere, they get me a key chain. I've got many from all over the world. I've got them all pinned up on a large cork board...I think the farthest one is Hong Kong, but Romania is pretty unique as well.
Also plants. I enjoy houseplants, I tend to focus on succulents, but I've many different kinds of orchids. My favorite plant is a Jade plant I've been growing for 12 years. I brought back a small cutting from my grandmothers plant in British Colombia when I was younger.
Textiles are the last one...I love beautiful weaving, or colors, or textures with cloth. I have a wall hanging from Tanzania I'm very fond of, and a few table cloths and runners and such (more than I have space to display) from many different places.

I collect Indian Arrowheads and Forest Service/Smokey the Bear stuff since I am a forest ranger in North Carolina.

I collect shot glasses. Every place new I visit I buy one. I have no clue how many I have.. a lot!

Aye, I too collect shot glasses. I also collect books- have about 5 full sized bookcases full already. I even keep my college books instead of selling them or getting a return on them.

I _never_ open the desert wine, just save it for the special occasion that never comes. Maybe when Lily lays eggs.

Nothing! I'm a bit of a minimalist when it comes to "stuff", so I try my best not to buy things. Made moving out of state pretty easy!
