Serpent Mound Monk
As some of you know my son River and I lost our best friend Charr dog,of 14 years over a month ago. Well we took our time and still greatly miss and love him, but it didn't feel right not to have a dog in the house so.... may I introduce the newest member of our family.........Here's Buckeye ( their name) I actually kinda like the name, may keep it of course he will be BUCK! if we do, but he is the color of a male deer.
Any name suggestions?
He is a definite Shepard, mom was a mix( sadly she was very sick and along with two of the litter all three had to be euthanised...they almost did the whole litter until the great ladies at save a mom, pregnant dog rescue saved them), but mostly shep, dad is questionable, but everyone agrees that these pups almost looks like full blood chows.
He is a chunky monkey!
They only had two black ones left to adopt and the other two were spoken ( Buckeye) for so when River and I got there I thought he was taken.
LUCK! the lady had called that day and thought that he would get too big for her apt. so she passed on him. I took this as a sign and the fact that he was the calmest, most laid back of the bunch ( reminded me of another dog, hmmm..),Anyway there were 4 there, I wanted the black male as well, but Oh well.
He has already settled in well and Shadow took right to him, rubbed up on him and everything, of course he wants to "play" with Shadow, but he'll learn.
He's fixed and up to date on shots, and smart and at two months ( 9 weeks) already prefers potty to go outside, 1 accident so far....enjoy the pics.
We really think Charr would've approved!
