Okay, just got done reading that other thread...and all I can say is I find your attitude toward animal life to be disgusting, cruel, and sadistic. I know you said being called disgusting, cruel, and sadistic upsets you. But since you seem to have so little regard for the feelings of your fellow creatures, then why should I have any regard for yours?
Hunting is fine. Thinking that human beings are the only creatures on this great Earth that deserve kindness and consideration is not. Good riddance.
Okay, now MOAR PANDAS!
Wait aren't YOU the guy that called me a smart @$$ in an earlier thread??? Good Lord, I don't know where I must fall in the area of things left unsaid then....I am a very opinionated person, about certain things. Very passionate.
And I know a few of my ideas would put others off. Are they corn snake related?...No.
Am I compromising myself by leaving things unsaid (and my feelings unhurt)...LOL...?...No....
Now Terri. That was said in the most affectionate manner to compliment you on having the absolutely most attractive snake on that thread!Wait aren't YOU the guy that called me a smart @$$ in an earlier thread??? Good Lord, I don't know where I must fall in the area of things left unsaid then.![]()
I've found that people are far more, shall we say brave on the internet with regard to voicing their opinions. Let's not forget that whatever one writes today will be forever accessible to the future masses. And therefore ample fuel is being laid for the bonfires of tomorrow... Be kind, be thoughtful show some restraint when you get ready to light the tinder pile because next week it might surrounding the stake you find yourself tied to.
Terri

That means my roast is gonna be HUGE when it happens. :roflmao: Maybe I should only post nice things for a while?![]()
Hey, if we time it right, I can watch yours burn and you can watch mine burn, and we won't even have to leave our respective homes to do so. We can have a cross-country bonfire!!
Woohoo! Sounds like fun to me! LOL. I'll get the hot dogs, marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers.![]()
Want to popcorn with butter on it too??? I got extra!!
Woohoo! Sounds like fun to me! LOL. I'll get the hot dogs, marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers.![]()
Ok...I'll get beer...you know...the IMPORT part of ANY good bonfire...
Jeez...this guy wants to have hotdogs and s'mores without beer. That's just un-American...
You can take antibiotics for that:grin01:I always walk away having gained far more from being here than I have lost.
I'm sorry you can't get past it. I wish you cuold, but...I'm not one to babysit or coddle. If you can get past a couple of mindless insults...we'd love to have you stick around...
Can you imagine the uproar that would result if someone used those exact words to describe their feelings about a homosexual's lifestyle?
An internet message board is a good safe place to learn life skills. Hunting is an emotive topic for people on both sides of the debate. The skill to learn here is that you can argue your point passionately, but you don't have to descend to personal insults or abusive language to do so.
However, if you don't think you can have the ability to "address the issue and not the person", or you're going to take offence when others less skilled than you speak harshly against you, your lesson is that maybe you should refrain from involving yourself in that type of discussion until you can handle it better.
A minority of folks on both sides of this discussion haven't covered themselves with glory in those terms, but there have still been many more reasonable posts both for and against and that's to be applauded.
I think keeping it civil and eventually "agreeing to disagree" is the key. No passionate pro-hunter will ever change the mind of someone equally anti-hunting, and vice versa. There's no need for name-calling or insults. If nothing else, you can walk away from the message board having learned that this achieves nothing.
Also, a good tip is that the other person can't argue with you if you *don't argue*. If you just accept that they do not (and never will) accept your point of view regardless of anything you can say, then there's no need for unpleasantness. A point of view contrary to your own need not be a threat that has to be defended against - it can just be an alternative view with which you will never agree. Debate may be interesting, but the outcome will only ever be that you come away knowing more about the other person's stance. I found it a useful lesson that took me many years to learn and still occasionally escapes me!
Coer, please reconsider. Most of the people here are awesome. It's too bad a few bad apples ruin the bunch.
