Do you hate that the Tea Party uses a snake flag?

Oh, back on topic. I like that the Tea Party has used the "Don't Tread on Me" flag. They may be dramatized by the extreme left media, but a lot of what they stand for is on par with what I believe our country was founded on. Though they have attracted some of the less desirable sorts from the extreme right.

Jackephants and Eledonks, doesn't matter what party they are, the extremes of both are full of idiots who can't think for themselves. I have some liberal ideals and some conservative ideals. I am an American man who has fought for my country, I have seen rights that I fought to keep stripped away from the American people, from both sides of the coin. Stating that one side is better than the other is, in my opinion, not the right(or left) thing to say.

In fact, I say lets get another coin. Maybe we won't screw it up this time....
I agree with you & THANK YOU again for your service to our country!

Ignoring the quip about the 'less desirable sorts',
I think this is why they have appeal to voters in all parties. Unfortunately we are expected to comply with our system of belonging to a "party". Just because something has been done is no reason to keep doing it.
As far as hating anything, hate takes a lot of energy.
Energy which could be productively utilized elsewhere.

Dave, don't get me wrong, I support the Tea Party. In fact, I hoped to see the Tea Party become its own political party in the future, and not just a class of Republican.

And, when I stated "less desirable sorts" I should have specified. The ones that make the Tea Party look bad. As in the extremists.. Though the media will do anything to make a group look bad if they go against mainstream views... Which is funny, because the media seemed to be all for the Tea Party in the beginning, at least from what I could tell, the very few times I looked at the news.

Oh, well, Aaron, if you put it that way, we can find "less desirable sorts" in other peoples parties, and certainly a more convenient a focus then looking for them in one's own party. Self-preservation belongs to all parties.

I agree. Its unfortunate that the Media focus's on the "less desirables" of the conservative parties, in order to make those parties look bad, but praises the extremists in their own party... It would be nice if the Tea Party wouldn't have to use the republican ticket to get any media... I really would like to see them separate into their own party... I remember hearing a lot of my democrat friends saying that they liked the Tea Parties ideals, that was before the media took up the "kill the Tea Party" stance and started making them look bad.

I prefer the platypus. An animal so unaffiliated with party lines that it built itself out of a variety of organisms (ideals). Yeah, it's a strange looking critter, but he's not tied down by labels. Go platypus, go!

In all seriousness, I don't despise either major party, I just find them both to be flawed. Like the platypus, my ideals are built upon varying degrees of left, right, and everything in between. What I do despise is party line politics.
Awesome!

Great points!

This in my opinion is what makes technology so great. We no longer need be fed by the MSM. The truth is out there if we look hard enough.

'Snake in the grass' is a metaphor used to describe "A shady, conniving person who could strike at anytime without warning" ( urban-dictionary.com )...If the Tea Party has galvanized around this image than so be it. It's just a picture and words to me.

Well I'm sorry if "Urban Dictionary" is your source of reference on this pictures. It was originally used by the early Americans warning other countries, the government etc, to no tread on them. And for that reason, I am proud that the Snake is a representation of the Tea Party. What Urban Dictionary says about it, to me is irrelevant. I used Urban Dictionary to look up my names in 7th grade, not try and decipher political symbols as an adult .....

The metaphor extends beyond urban dictionary. I can find another reference point if it suits you though...As for not treading, I personally find it ironic that they choose that term yet (in general) right-wing people object to global warming, environmentalism, and conservation. The fact that they identify symbolically with something they realistically care so little about goes to show the value of the image altogether. Just saying.

While you are correct MAN MADE "global warming", "evironmentalism" and the whole "green" push is quite objectionable- it is a leftist created haox to stiffle liberty and control. Contrary to the lefts game of label and marginalize (the right hates the earth/environment, wants pollution and dirty water...)- many of us are very much so conservationalist, even to a greater extent than many lefties.

I am all for dumping the two party system that we have become entrenched in. Its driving our country into the ground. I don't care what party you are tell me how you are going to fix the country!!! BTW I like the flag, not too sure about the tea party though.............
