My greatest hatchling EVER!!!

Thank you, everyone...I was dying with every day that got closer to her due date (originally March 10th!) to make this thread, and now that she's here, I'm in complete & utterly blissful awe...

Oh she is so gorgeous!!!! She doesn't look a thing like her ultrasounds!! :) Didn't that seem to take forever for her to get here? have fun with her- babies are _so_ much fun!! Congratulations!!
I've been wanting to do this, so let's compare...:)

Evelia's 30-week ultrasound picture & Evelia, 2 days old (*finally* without her hand in front of her pretty lil'face!):

And, for those who are curious, Evelia means "life" in Hebrew and we chose the name because it's easily pronounceable in both German & Spanish (my background & his) as they both have the same vowel sounds. The name also coincidentally is a beautiful mix of both of our mothers' names: mine is Evelyn, and his is Eusebia. :) Her name is pronounced "eh-VAY-lee-ah"...and her middle names are those of our maternal grandmothers (mine - Gertrud, his - Angela). A very women-first name! And she's already showing what a strong, independent spirit she has inside of her...:)

Well- she does look like that picture! Except now that she's out, her nose isn't squished! Her face is just beautiful. Perfect.

What an awesome name for a beautiful child!!! She is ADORABLE!!!

If ya'll ever come this way, Uncle Fred will have to take ya'll to lunch so I can have some time to hold her!!!

BTW, one of my 0.8 "wards" saw the "in-mommy" picture and said, "Ewww Gross!" (forgive her, she's an ignorant 12-year old). I ALMOST want to make her write 100 sentences... "Babies are ALWAYS beautiful, even when not birthed yet."

Thank you, Evelia would love to take you up on the offer, Uncle Fred...;)

And, just remind your 12-year old -- as my mother now loves to remind me of my childhood comments & actions :p -- of what she said when it comes her time and she's oohing & aahing over her own ultrasound photos...;) I'm sure that she'll feel quite differently when her own time comes!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! They are the best type of hatchlings except louder and more demanding. I have to comment on how good you look after labor both times I blew up like a balloon and looked like someone punched me in the eyes, lol. I think a progression thread is in order for her!!

Wow! Congrats on the little one. You know, most babies are butt-ugly to me, but she is absolutely adorable. She just looks all perfectly proportionate and so cute and pink. I love her name too. Very unique. None of that boring common stuff.

Huge congrats to you and your family. She is absolutely precious. I look forward to progression updates of her on a regular basis!

I find that many times when I see a newborn photo I lie and say the baby is cute because they are often wrinkled and raw, red looking things! Not this time!!

This is an adorably cute little girl, for her first day here! Congrats!

Oh Christina she is just beautiful! Congrats on such a lovely bundle of happy little coos and smiles. I adore her name too. I can't wait to see a progression thread on this one! :gin01:

How did I miss this thread?!?! Congrats! She's STUNNING! We all know how much you were looking forward to this little girl! :) Mom looks great too!

Aww, she is so gorgeous! What a beautiful little bundle of happiness, congratulations! :D

I can't believe our newest grandson is nearly 10 weeks old, the time goes so quickly, so enjoy her baby stage, because before you know it she'll be on her feet! ;)

Congrats again and don't forget to post updates, I'll look forward to them :)
