And this is all from Air Force EOD?? Sorry if im not percieving this 100% since when do we get open like this with civilians?
Something just seems off.
Didnt know anyone to ever incorporate woman along with the 'sacrifice' spheal.
You sound like a grunt who has been on a few bad deployments.
If you are not BS'ing then i gotta say that we signed a contract...several of them. Infact a few days worth of signing.
If you are deemed unfit, that sucks. I feel for you on that but it is what it is.
I dont want you owning a gun if you can't deal with yourself and if the VA told me the same then oh well.
How would it bug you if you dont carry anyways?
I do not BS oni. Yes my issues arise from my deployments as USAF EOD. Look up the amount of the mission that my AF EOD brothers and sisters took from the army over the past few years. We are not a bunch of desk jockeys, as the rest of our military brethren like to try and make us out to be.
Yes, I signed a contract, and I swore an oath. An oath that I high in extremely high regard, even today, even though I am out of the military. The military did not deem me unfit, no one has, yet. But, I am on list of veterans with PTSD, and, eventually that diagnosis will cause me to loose one of the many rights that I fought for, a direct violation of the oath that I swore, because it violates my second amendment rights.
And yes Oni, women serve in the military now, and have served for a while in combat. You know, since there really is no front lines any more... Oh, and women have been serving in EOD for quite a while too, which in today's wars, places them in combat situations... So yeah, they sacrifice as much as men do... Time to remove yourself from the "men do all the hard work" mentality.
Also, I never stated that I could not handle myself. I choose to not carry a weapon, because I do not want to snap one day and misinterpret someone threatening me. I have taken 5 lives, it is not something that I say lightly, but I have learned that talking about it, helps me come to terms.
You may be one of those "Bad A$$es" that holds everything in, and refuses to talk about your experiences, but I can tell you that it is not a healthy thing to do. I have literally seen "keeping everything in" tear lives apart, and I have seen friends and family drink themselves to death, because they kept it in.
To answer your question, It bugs me when men and women are put on a fiduciary list, without their or their spouses approval, then then placed on the national no sell list, as though they are criminals. These men and women served in the military, the VA has absolutely no right to do this sort of thing. I have met 2 people that have had this experience, and both of them seem very normal to me.
If you cannot see the government targeting Veterans, then you are blind.
Did you even read my posts? I'm not advocating banning all guns. I have guns myself. No law-abiding citizen needs an AR-15 for personal defense. The gun show loop hole enables any crazy person to walk up to a table an purchase a gun or two or three. The argument against it is that it causes too great of an incovenience for the buyer and seller?
Pretty much everyone I know that has an AR 15, uses it in varmint hunting. I do not know anyone who has one for personal defense. It is much easier to carry a pistol than a rifle, for that issue.
