New Anery??

Em Wright

The Ice Queen
I was browsing the Kingsnake.com classified ads and saw this: http://market.kingsnake.com/detail.php?cat=65&de=777575

The breeder claims that this is a new type of Anery... what does everyone else think? I know it's probably possible, considering that Lava was discovered from WC snakes (at least I think I read that somewhere).

I'm kind of on the fence. If it is a new type of Anery that'd be amazing! I love Anery based morphs. But I recognize that it could be a scam. :shrugs:

Okay... queue discussion! :)

Oh, just wanted to clarify, I did look up the owner of the ad on the BOI and found nothing but good reviews.

However, the topic of a new type of Anery is still intriguing... I'd love to see some discussion on it!

I would personally not put up an ad like that without first test breeding the snake and prove it is not one of the known anery types. This just isn't real convincing to me,
He doesn't resemble any of the other anery lines out there so I'm hoping he is a totally new line.
The snake itself looks like a very pretty anery A to me

Said breeder from Kingsnake is also on this site and has posted these in our classifieds as well. Looks like a nice snake though, but I'll wait it out a few years.

By test breeding you mean putting it with an actual Anery A and an Anery B to see if the types are compatiable? (not entirely sure hence asking)

I was actually kind of excited at first, but hearing your points I think I agree... Perhaps too soon to call it a new gene.

I was still on hiatus at the time of that thread's creation (and the issue closed) so it was unknown to me. Sorry to double post or whatever, I was just excited about what I'd found and wanted to share it. Sorry if I offended anyone by doing so.

No worries whatsover man. Just wanted to point you at the other folks thoughts. :)

It's all good. :D  Thanks for pointing me toward that thread. The conversation actually answered my question about test breeding. :)

Like others have said I would not try and say something is new with out several breeding test. Plus he is saying it is het new. Well there is no guarantee on hets just taking someones word.

But on the other hand he is only asking $100 for a pair. So if it is just anery A or B you just paid alittle to much for it. But if it is something new and exciting well you just got the keys to the show for almost nothing.

Hey guys... New here, but ironically I caught this post. I actually bought a pair of these on Kingsnake and they are being shipped out this week. Something about the ad had me curious and like a fish with bait in the water, I took it. I do have to say, that I was fascinated with what the possibilities are with these animals. It's only 100.00 for the pair. Researching reputations, this guys has nothing but great ratings. I will keep everyone posted with pics as these little ones mature.

I've inquired about the pair as well. At the very least, having a pair that produces such a bright, smooth Anery would be nice. :)

Ack!! I've followed this through two separate threads and I have still yet to see any pics of these "beautiful" snakes. All the links or pics are broken or missing. lol :awcrap:

I had to do some searching but here is a photo of the anery in question:

The het offspring offered for sale look like typical normals.

As far as i understand it, this animal hasnt been tested against either anery or charcoal. Its not a *proven* new line. Its certainly pretty, but the odds are so slim that a third anery would pop up. Just proceed with caution, i guess. Id be upset if i paid 100 for a pair of het anery a animals. Not that i dont love anerys, but thats a steep price by most peoples standards.

Yeah, I asked him if he tested that *male* snake against an anery A and he said he had not, that that was in the plans for next year.

I have to say that smacks of "make a quick buck" to me. :/

I would be very suprised if a fifth different anery popped up.. I am quite happy with the four different ones I have at this point..
