and cattle *is* hurting the planet. Espesially our streams, lakes rivers.....
My kids don't eat grass! We eat vegan ribs, vegan burgers, vegan hotdogs, vegan cheese, vegan anything we crave or want!
My kids wouldn't know we are vegan if I didn't tell them.
Get the info....do the research! Im not going to do it for you just to proove you wrong, that's really not my style.
Just go easy on us vegans. Not all of us are pushy. My meat eating friends when invited over for bbqs or dinner I always provide a meat option.
Tara, I think that is really cool. I have heard that some vegan people don't even like meat in their houses...(might be a religion thing, or just that meat gives them really bad feelings, I don't know).
If I had vegan friends over, I would find out what they liked to eat and provide it too. (And if I was feeling brave, I might even try it!!)![]()
Climate change is real. I like meat.

Sorry to burst your bubble. It is what we feed the cattle mixed with all the chemical fertilizers ect.. that are destroying the streams.... Grazing animals have been here since the dawn of the dinosaurs so that fact that they destroy lake and river needs to be rethought about....
Oh I like veggies ...with my steak
Actually it is because mass produce cattle to the extreme and all of their sh*t runs into our water ways.
But not ALL farms do this. There are farms that are designed to be as green as possible. When I worked fisheries in Western MD we watched a feed lot farmer redesign his cattle farm to avoid the runoff and dumping of cattle manure into a local creek. It's possible, and it does happen.

Ok.. I think I kind of get what they mean if you put it that way.....I think you are missing their point. The idea is not that the specific FOODS that we feed to cattle would then go to people, but that the LAND we use to raise foods for cattle would go towards raising food for people... i.e. grains, vegetables, fruits, etc. They are correct in that it would theoretically provide more farm land for raising people food.
The "myth" that vegetable farming is always "better" for the environment than livestock farming is just that-- a myth. Intensive livestock farming (i.e. raising hundreds of cattle in a 50 acre lot is often bad for the environment. But organically raised, field bred and fed cattle actually offer a lot to the environment. Vegetative fields are created and maintained as monocultures-- one species of plant ONLY-- whereas livestock fields can be planted and maintained in many ways, to the benefit of many different species of animal. I think a balanced approach is the best. I think that organic or natural, pasture raised livestock is best over intensively "cultivated" livestock.
Yes. Your right. Thats what i think exactly. I just think that its not going to be ending the world any time soon.Well of course climate change is real. The Earth is a constantly changing planet.
Are we going formal? You know who I am.....Cornsnake124
I know that... Yet that doesn't mean that i should vegan. I have my opinions, so do other people. Thats fine.Your opinion isn't the only one that's "RIGHT".
Actually it is because mass produce cattle to the extreme and all of their sh*t runs into our water ways. Chemicals or not mass sh*t is mass sh*t in our water ways. If grazing animals stayed as such and not being factory farmed their would be way less of that sh*t
Well of course climate change is real. The Earth is a constantly changing planet.
Oh, and Cornsnake124, you're showing your age. Grow up.

Global warming is a proven scientific fact. The debate is over what the cause is.
Frankly I don't know many vegans/moral vegetarians who aren't self-involved and have very holier-than-thou attitudes... not saying all of them are, I just haven't met one that wasn't.
