Michelle's Candied Corns!
It sounds like the four species that have been banned are simply banned from import and interstate transportation. So I guess as long as the animals that are currently in the states are safe, as long as they don't leave the state they are in. I seriously disagree that the lacey act was the way to go on this though. These animals pose absolutely no risk outside of the Everglades- and what about all the other hundreds of invasive species there? These snakes are already illegal in Florida (as far as I know) and they cannot survive more than a summer anywhere else, the Lacey Act should only pertain to species that could damage a wide array of habitats across the states. I say let's ban pigs. Since they are not native here but they're running rampant and destroying everything! I've already been writing about how terrible this is to pass, and while I am not affected by the species in concern currently, the day is coming soon when they are going to ban the other 5 species, balls, as well as our beloved corns and any other reptile.
