VOTING for 2010 H. Bernard Bechtel Award!

RobbiesCornField

Bring it on.
Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for the voting process to begin! Please read the directions CAREFULLY.

~*Directions*~
1) Read over list and reasons for each nominee.
2) Pick your nominee.
3) PM or e-mail me your vote. If e-mailing, put "Bechtel Award" in the subject line. (E-mail is [email protected] )

The e-mail and PM are REQUIRED for voting in this process, as we would like to keep the award a complete secret from the recipient!

And The Nominees Are...

Kathy Love - Kathy is an asset to our community. She's bred an astounding amount of corns, and cultivated new morphs over the years. She's always helping keepers, old and new. If you have one snake, or thousands, Kathy will always take the time to help you. Her book is considered one of the industry standards for new keepers.

Charles "Chuck" Pritzel - Many of the original corn folks who've been in the biz for a while were worried the newer generation wouldn't remember who Chuck is, or what he's done for cornsnake herpetoculture. Chuck, along with his wife Connie, founded the ACR (American Cornsnake Registry), which puts us just one step closer to giving us the ability to trace our corns through the generations. Every year, he researches and publishes a brand new Cornsnake Morph Guide, and is also responsible for the Cornsnake Newsletter. Chuck has also been responsible for information on not only "stargazing", but several other genes as well.

Don Soderberg - Don has written one of the industry standard books, and is in the process of writing a second. He has also bred a fantastic range of morphs and proven many new genes, and is the originator of one of the very best lines of pied-sided available on the market today.

Carol Huddleston - Carol is known for her superb line-breeding of Miami corns. "Just a normal" has been transformed into a line of incredible quality and beauty through her efforts. Her dedication to selecting and breeding the best examples of the type has given the hobby a benchmark for what can be achieved through breeding to enhance the quality of any morph.

Nanci LeVake - Nanci is known on this site for her kindness, and willingness to help anyone. She has a saintly amount of patience with everyone, not just a select few. Her animals live the high life in their world-class setups, and she goes above and beyond for every one of them.

PLEASE read the nominations carefully before making your selection!

Thank you very much!

I'm sure there will be a 3rd annual award next year. Everybody deserving will get their recognition eventually. :santa:

I think Rich won last year.

Actually yes, I did, and you all COMPLETELY dropped this bombshell on me unawares......... It's an awesome award and really need to take a photo of it to post.

This is something pretty cool that you guys are doing here...

Could we possibly get a sticky recording each year's award and who it went to.. along with maybe a photo of the award being given? I think it would be kind of cool to have it all centralized. :shrugs:

You know now that there's going to be more than 1 ;) Can start a list! haha

In a "hall of fame" type fashion... if you know what I mean...

I was hoping last year that the award, the raffle for USARK, etc would at least get a blurb in Reptiles...

Yes, it was too bad we never got it into Reptiles...

Maybe now that US ARK is even better known, we can get it into the magazine this year, with a little mention of what we did last year?

Here are a couple of photos that were posted after the event last year:
