If I vote to increase YOUR taxes it does NOT make me a theif...it makes me a participating member in an actively democratic government. This isn't about "re-distribution of wealth"...it's about healthcare reform(now...it started out accusing opbama of indoctrinating our kids, but you failed miserably with those arguments. If you reach in my wallet and take money, you would be a thief, right? Even if you gave that money to someone else, you would still be a thief. I'm sure you see that. Now, if you tell your brother to take the money from my wallet, then both of you are thieves, right? Most people would say, yes." Both members that plan the robber/burglary/whatever would be theifs since they are taking the money from the rightful owner against his will.
If the government takes from a person against their will - and another person VOTES for that government to do such - then they are taking money from the rightful owners against their will. Now, some things are allowed by the constitutions, but that doesn't include redistribution of wealth. When it comes to that, it is NOT supported in the constitution, it is pretty much disallowed by it, and it was definitely against the intent based on the words of our forefathers. So, forcing redistribution of wealth to TAKE it from those that earn it and GIVE it to those that do not is tantamount to thievery.
BTW...in case you forgot...the Constitution was designed to allow for changes. Nobody said you had to like them for them to be elgitimate, legal, and good for the betterment of the country. It might SUCK for you personally, but...tough luck. Don't like it? Travel is a right of every citizen of this country. Move to one where they don't allow people to vote for change, make changes, and grow as a nation. I'm sure you'd be happier there...

If I vote to have taxes more evenly distributed, that does NOT make me a theif...it makes me smart enough to realize that a person making 10times as much as I do and paying the same $$ amount in taxes is about the stupidest way to run a country.
Not true. Currently, the richest 2% of this country pay less, based on percentages, than the poorest(yet still working) 2% How does that work? If you make $50,000 a year, and pay 10% in income tax(just an easy number to calculate, not accurate), you're left with $45,000 a year to live with. If I make $12,000, and pay 10%, it leaves me $10,800 to live on. As it stands right now, your $50,000 earns you extra tax breaks, and extra tax credits, meaning you would only pay HALF of your 10%. So you make 5times as much money...and pay the same dollar figure in taxes. That makes sense to you? I cannot fathom how that makes sense...
Further...you scream about socialism and all this other crap...You have not once in either this thread or the "other" thread addressed many strong, valid, and valuable arguments that smack your "facts" to the ground. When you gonna stop yelling and start talking? When you gonna stop with the paranoid delusions, the name-calling, the partisan catch-phrases, and the false accusations and actually start discussing the issues in a reasonable and realistic manner using actual FACT to support your claims and back up your position?
Never mind. You can't do that. If you tried to do that, you would actually have to check your facts. No, they would treat Bob, and his injuries, just like they do currently. They would also run print checks and bloodwork to ID him. They would also monitor him, and keep him in the hospital until they found the next of kin...just like they do right now. And they do that now, and in the future, regardless of who you are, or where you came from. Regardless of your legal immigration or citizenship status, and regardles sof your ability to pay. That's part of medicine.
That's also NOT what this discussion is about. This discussion is about KJUN insistance that the medical reform bill in question will "Require treatment without ID". That is a ridiculous statement. Requiring treatment without IDin anything but the most extreme case of emergency service will not happen. CAN'T happen. Not in this country.
BTW...vehicles are typically registered. The registration of the vehicle should, in one way or another, lead them to positively ID a victim of an accident before the victim arrives at the hospital...That's how it usually goes.
And yes...I called Rush Limbaugh a retard. If I need to be banned for that...I accept that. But I will not retract the statement...

Before talking about majority rule as if it is an amazing thing you really should read about the fall of the Roman empire. True democracy, majority rule, collapse because people figured out they could vote for the gov't to give them anything and everything they wanted.
When it comes to the taxing thing I have to ask. Do you think that we should tax the person earning more enough so that they have only what the poor have left over afterward? Is that fair? Not to mention the person with more money is STILL paying more yearly in sales tax because they can and will buy more, expensive items.
Finally, I just want to point out that you can use statistics to prove just about anything. If you studied them, you'd know that. I could use statistics to prove that I am taller than 99.99% of the world using the correct distributions and calculations. Statistics are lies. And finally, my guess is that my father and grandfather each pay more in taxes in one year than you will in a decade because of the tax bracket they're in. My father gets no more tax breaks that you get and is probably supporting MANY more people than you before taxes are even taken into consideration. Should he still have to pay even more taxes because he kicked his ass for the last 50 years to get where he's at now? Or should he get to ENJOY the money he has earned because HE earned it. My father had NOTHING given to him and grew up in a MUCH worse environment than most people. He knew that if he worked his ass off he could achieve something and he did. Now you believe that he should have that stripped from him because he achieved the American dream and you (general not specifically you) didn't? Agreed, you could use statistics. But in this case, you'd be abusing the methodology, whereupon you'd be called out for using sampling bias to misrepresent your "proof".

And this is why I choose to ignore statistics. BTW you don't even need to use a sampling bias to change the distribution. You can use a Gamma, Beta, Normal, Chi Square, etc. to skew results as well. Many court cases have done this to get cases thrown out. Unfortunately, nobody does the background research to see what that statistician used to create the number.

Peyton, I never advocated an unfair tax system in either direction. It's horrible to assume that a person disagreeing with an extreme is automatically of the opposite extreme. All I said is that a person making more money gets more tax breaks. Without the tax breaks, the percentages of income contribution would be equal...which would be fair...to everyone. Yes...if you make more, you pay more taxes. But the percentage is equal, or at least proportionally equivalent.
I admit that the practicality of such a system is something I don't fully understand, so do what you will with it.
And just because you can make up statistics to support a bogus claim doesn't make the claim any less bogus. Lying is lying, and using false "evidence" doesn't change that. It should, however, be highly frowned upon and recognized for what it is, not supported and used as a "tool"...

I think it's like a gangrenous limb. Sometimes you try to save it by treating it, but then sometimes you just have to resort to loping it off to save the rest of the healthy body. After all, the health of the rest of the body really is of paramount importance. Leaving it there just causes the rest of the body to fester and die along with it...or at least stunts the growth and potential of the rest. Either way, it smells bad as it rots!
