Could it be ?????

So, how many eggs were actually incubated, and how many snakes did you finally wind up with hatching out?

Reason I ask is because in a few instances I had snakes in the eggs beneath hatch out and just continued on into the eggs above them, so it appeared that two snakes were hatching from that top egg.

Normally when you have real twins, both snakes will be smaller than the rest of the clutch.

Never counted the clutch yet Rich. I usually do that once I find/feel all the mini pods empty.

It's definatly twins....................see post below

Well, it's offical.................."Twins"

While working in the snakeroom I took a peek and found this.
I think there is enough of them showing here to determine they are not conjoined. I wouldn't think they would be that far down.

:eek::eek: WHOW !!!!!!

I defiantly got my own quote wrong. They finally emerged and I was kinda right. They are twins............SIAMESE TWINS !!!

I've never seen this before. I've had one snake grow together before during incubation and have hatched plenty eggs conatining two seperate snakes (twins), but NEVER had two snakes conjoined like this.

This thing has two heads, two necks, a conjoined mid section and two tails.

Wowee!

Haven't seen one like that before. Hope it's a survivor for you. Would be REAL interesting to see it progress into adulthood.....

Now if they are brother and sister....... :crazy01:

Yeah, same here man.
LOL, never thought about their genders. I'll have to check that once they disconnect from the umbilical.

Aww, I know you were hoping for two heads! But neat either way! I have had twins in almost all my clutches. Maybe this year I'll be lucky enough to end up with one that stuck together :)

Is it the same line if genetics you got the two headed snake from? Should someone be concerned if they keep getting gentic abnormalities? I am just attempting to breed my first time this year so only curious.

So, I guess that surplus X-ray unit you have in your basement to irradiate the eggs is working out well for you?

Seriously, I wouldn't get my hopes up about this critter being a survivor. Looking at the pics, it appears that the posterior section of the body is folded back and fused together at the abdominal scutes. I have had that sort of deformity before in single animals, and euthanized them with the presumption that they would not survive. Hope I am wrong, though, but this does seem pretty severe.

Yep, same one you used years back to make those crazy colored corns, remember that???.....................LOL

Same here Rich. I had singles hatch like this as well, fused and bent in half.
These are kinda twisted around the area of the umbilical. I'm not going to get my hopes up much on this one, but I guess it's worth a try :shrugs:
Nothing gained if nothing ventured.
