I'm sorry..I need to vent a little here..I'm losing my mind..

The only piece of good news is that I might have a new job..I go to my second interview tomorrow..Supposedly I get 800 every 2 weeks, and that is my garunteed pay..but I have a chance to make commission as well..basically I'm going from house to house demonstrating vacumes and other home appliances..if the person buys the appliance...I guess I get a commission..I'm going to be finding out more tomorrow..
Ah...New Jersey economy strikes again.

If the appliance demo place is for Kirby Vaccums(J&D Distributors), I recommend you skip that job.

I definitely would contact your local church parish as well, my family had to reach out for help once and we received food donations from the church.

Good luck with everything.

I don't know if you're in the city at all; but an easy way to make some cash is dog walking. It sounds pretty ridiculous - but you'd be surprised how many people in the city are too busy or unable to walk their dogs! I posted one ad and had a woman asked me to walk her two dogs every day until she was able to get back on her feet - at fifteen dollars a day, for an hour of my time - it was a pretty sweet deal.

I hope everything works out for you.

put up posters at Starbucks etc...you would be amazed on the response you would get! Good luck! I know how it is!

This now has me worried because it is for Kirby vacumes..please PM me with your experience with them and what is bad about this company..thank u for bringing it up!

Thank you all for your kind offers of sending money to my account. As much as it would help and as tempting as the offers are, I must decline all offers of money. I just wouldn't feel right taking money from someone who I never even met..I know you all have the best of intentions and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart..However..At this time I could use some basking rocks, light fixtures, bulbs..anything that could go towards a beardie's care..since I am seperating the beardies..Each one is going to need it's own source of heat, it's own platform to bask, it's own food bowl..etc etc...If anyone has any extra reptile supplies that could be used for this..I am more then willing to take it off your hands as it would be going to a very good cause (helping my beardies..)...Other then that..I don't really think I could ask for much more..But again..I do thank all of you very much..There are so many kind people on here..and it truly makes me happy to be apart of this forum.

I'm not sure of this new job I just got..so I'm still going to pursue filing for un-employment and I just filed for food stamps and medical care aide last night..thank you all for the links..They were very helpful :)

My boyfriend was having alot of trouble finding a job...this is a small province of Canada, so sometimes work is hard to come by. He posted his resume on Kijiji and got four call backs in the next two weeks...maybe that would help?

I posted Callie up on Craigslist for adoption (the cat) and someone has responded!! I hope he is serious and agrees to adopt her..That would be at least 1 small burden taken care of..I'm just worried because he wanted to know if she was up to date with her shots and I told him I hadn't taken her to the vet as I didn't have the money for that but that he was welcome to do it if he adopted her..Oh I hope he does :(

Sounds like you are figuring things out there. I really hope everything will fall in place for you.
I had an entire year and a half of no work, it went on for so long that I ran out of unemployment. After that I started my own business but even then I was always broke. Food stamps were a godsend. In the fall I did make a bit of money just cleaning up leaves and cleaning out people's rain gutters, stuff like that. I got pretty good at finding little odd ways to make money, be it cashing in recyclables or selling small things on craigslist (books, collectibles) I would also get a table at a local flea market and I would look for free/cheap garage sales for stuff to replenish the table. Hopefully you get the job but in the mantime I hope any of these ideas help! Hang in there, it will get better. :)

Another thing you could do is sell a few things on eBay. They just started a neat feature, the first 5 things you list every 30 days get free insertion, so you only pay eBay anything if your item sells. Just an idea. Hope everything straightens out soon for you!

Oh trust me the "sell what you don't need" idea has been exercised in this house to no end..lol..in the past 2 month Joe and I have sold: one of our laptops, over half our DVD collection, his old cell phone, my old cell phone, an Xbox360, my PSP, nearly all our Xbox360 games, all my psp games, and our room mate sold his games and cell phone as well...

I've just read through your post, and please know how much I'm hoping things get better for you. I've been through hard times, but they are nothing compared to your troubles! Hopefully this is just going to be a short hard spot, and you're life will be 100x better when it's over! I'm praying that your luck turns around really, really soon. :}

Alright..well the guy never adopted Callie..so we still have this 3rd cat here..unemployment has finally sent me a check but I have to wait until the 24th to cash it..Joe's family helped us out tremendously by giving us money for some groceries and to pay the electric bill and our room mate finally got paid so we were able to get the cable turned back on..Right now Joe spoke to a manager at a different 6th Ave store then the one he works at..He spoke to the manager of the Woodbridge store and told him how I need a job..so now the manager wants to meet me..Hopefully things will work out and I will have a job once again..We got a small reprieve this month..but we're going to need help by December if I'm not working..All I can do is pray this job works out..and pray that we will finally get caught up on these bills...So far we're still afloat..I just hope we don't sink any further right now...

Thank you all for all your kind words, offers, and suggestions through this hard time..You are so wonderful here and I thank myself for having friends like you to count on..Even though most of us have never met..I consider you all very special to me..Thank you all

Oh and I went to a petsmart and asked them if they had anything they could offer for my reptiles because I didn't have any money..The manager straight off said "no"..But one of the employees managed to get me a UVA bulb for the beardie I have seperated from the other 2..So right now he is in a 20L with paper towel bedding, a small half log as a basking spot, a UVA bulb from Exo-Terra and a small plastic lid I made into a food dish for him..it's really not much and I might have to call a reptile rescue to come get him..Unfortunately he's not even my beardie..He belongs to my room mate as he is the one my room mate chose..I keep telling Harry that we need to rehome him and that we can't afford to care for him the way he needs (he still needs to see a vet because I still think his arm is broken)..But harry refuses to let the little guy go..I'm not sure what to do right now with this little beardie..I've been making sure he's eating (he's been eating some greens and still loves his crickets), I make sure to offer him water every 2 days and I soak his arm in peroxide and water every other day..this is the most I can offer the little guy for now..If it weren't for me..he would still be in the small kritter keeper harry put him in after he was attacked..then he put a small reptile night light over the kritter keeper and said that would hold him for a while..I was so mad at this..so I took the responsibility of trying to make this guy as comfortable as I can..But I'm very limited on what I can do right now..

I raise a special kind of roaches that Burt Langerwerf used to feed all of his lizards - evidently very nutritious. They are really easy to raise - I use them to recycle my veggie waste like people use earthworms. I never buy food for them - just vegetable waste. I keep them in a Rubbermaid tub with cypress mulch. It takes a while to get a good supply going from breeding. But if you want to raise some, I can send some to you. You can feed some to your dragon, and then keep the rest for propagation. Then you can divide your veggies between the lizard and the roaches, and it won't cost you much of anything to keep him, once you get the vet work done.

If you want some, email me your mailing address.

PM or e-mail me your mailing address and I'll see what kitty coupons, etc I can send to you. Talk to any and all local vets, asking for any free samples of kitten food...Hills and Iams send us tons for free. If you haven't separated the cats, do so now. Put the new one in one room with a litter pan, food and water and don't let it out into the rest of the house. Hopefully, your other cats will get back into their old routine. Any time you introduce a new cat into the house, it should be done gradually or else you get the problems you're seeing. You should also have at least one more litter pan than you have cats...3 cats, 4-5 litter pans.

Does the leg you think is broken on the beardie have open wounds? Is there any way you can possibly splint it with toothpicks or small Popsicle stick, using medical-type tape to secure them and possible leaving the wound(s) exposed for cleaning? I doubt a vet will do much more. You'll want to immobilize the joints just above and below where the break is.
