The 2009 YEAR in Review!

RobbiesCornField

Bring it on.
YEAR IN
R
EVIEW!!!!!!!!

2009. MMIX. Two Thousand Nine. Deux Mille Neuf. Zwei Tausend Neun. Due Mila Nove. Dois Mil Nove. Dos Mil Nueve.

Hello, and welcome to the 2009 Year In Review! 2009 was filled with all sorts of fun stuff not only here on the forum, but also for many of our members and the rest of the outside world. As was the same with last year's Review, it was fun to go back through all of the photos and threads to watch snakelets grow up, as well as watching a few members grow and start to come in to their own. There have been a few members that left, but of course even more members have come into our family, and a few have returned from a long hiatus.

We welcomed 2 new moderators to the forum this year. MohrSnakes and Nanci! I'm sure they'll do an absolutely fantastic job, and be wonderful additions to the team!

In 2009, we also lost a great herpetologist, unfortunately. He was an inspiration to many of the big name breeders here, and helped start off the morph market as we know it, having bred the original albino snakes. Let's all have a moment of silence for Dr. H. Bernard Bechtel.

We also were able to celebrate (well, I'm sure HE'S celebrating) the retirement of our very own forum Admin, and one of the biggest corn snake breeders in the industry today, Mr. Rich Zuchowski!

A little bit about how this is going to work. The easiest way for me to pull this off was to go back and read through each months Week In Reviews to pull the Threads of Interest and of course Photos from. The Threads of Interest will be chosen on either how good they were, or if they were ones that made the whole forum pee themselves laughing. I'm also hoping that by selecting the best of some of the Threads of Interest, this YIR can also serve as an impromptu research guide for questions already asked and appropriately answered for new members that might be taking a peek in here. There were a couple WIRs that had originally had photos, but the photos had, unfortunately, been removed by either the photo host or the original poster. If no links were provided to the thread the photos originated from, there is, unfortunately, no way for me to go back and find out exactly which photos were chosen. So if I missed a few photos, I do apologize. Most of the photo titles are all linked to the original photo threads. If no link was provided by the WIR author, there's no link. I've tried to cut down on the number of pictures and tried to choose only the best. Unfortunately, I'm also not going to be able to put in all of the pictures I want. If I did, this would probably run about 40 posts. Haha!

Please please PLEASE refrain from responding until all posts have been made! If anyone interrupts, I'll beat you with a 2x4.

In the spirit of the YIR, I would like to thank ALL of the WIR writers over the past year who have helped make this review possible! Thank you all!

So without further ado, I would like to give you... the

Ah, January. The start of a new year, and a new beginning for many people. Of course, many things are still the same when starting a new year. People made, and are trying their hardest not to break resolutions, breeders are working and reworking breeding plans, and of course, everyone is coming to CS.com to get their daily dose of snake talk.
