I recently upgraded my corn into a 20gallon tank, and now have a 10gallon that is not in use. I was wondering if there is any, hardy low matenience herp that would do well in a 10gallon. thaNks

Does anyone have any experience with these snakes? I've had my cornsnake for a while now, and was wondering if these snakes make good pets for a novice.

So I waiting for Zero to shed, I leave the room for an hour, and when I come back...I see his shed laying on the tank. Just once I'd like to see him shed. :sobstory:

He just seems to act a little more jerky than usual, I suppose he may just be getting ready to shed, but it's weird.

When I first started feeding him, he would start eating the mouse in seconds, but know it takes at least 10 minuets for him to eat, and often I have to leave the room. Is this normal?

Before when I tried to take him out of his cage he would race to the opposite side, but now he really doesn't move at all when I take him out...could there be a probem with him?

This is the first time that my snake didn't eat since I have had him. Is it possible that he didn't eat because the fuzzy was too big? (it was a little too big) When should I try to feed him next?

Any problems with it? I think my snake likes it, he loves to burrow it. The only problem is it hardley see him, well it's still better then paper towel IMO.

there is a small flake of skin on my cornsnake's snout. the humidity stays 40-50% generally.

Within about 10mins my very new cornsnake(got it today) opened its mouth very wide then closed it and then did it again. then it slithered aroud the cage and got a drink of water. It hasn't opened its mouth since. do I have anything to worry about? \ by the way the cage is 75 on coldside and 81...

This really isn't an issue now, but with fall coming and the temperature dropping, I was wondering how to heat the cold side, because it's going to fall to about 65 degrees when winter comes around. Right now I have a UTH under one side of the tank, and it's about 85 on the hot side.

As a new cornsnake owner I just want to know what to expect.

I have to go back to my parent's home for a couple months and my room mate said he'd feed my snake, but he refuses to handle it. The snake is generally tame but if he is not handled for that long will he get aggressive? In case you wondering I don't think I can bring my snake across the border...

The room I plan to keep the snake in is lighted, so do I need a UTH and a llight to heat the tank?

I'm about to get my cornsnake soon, and wanted to use a heating mat for heating, but I'm using a plastic tank (until it gets bigger), and the mats are not recomended for plastic, is there anything I could put under the tank to protect the plastic, or do I just need to buy heat bulbs?
